Abigale Lee
Miller(born on 21st September, 1965) is an American dance instructor,
choreographer and reality television host. Abby Lee Dance Company is her own
creation that was a reality show that aired for eight seasons on Dance Moms. On
June 27, 2016, Miller pleaded guilty to fraudulent bankruptcy in felony. Miller
was sentenced on the 27th of June the 27th of June, 2016 to a year, and one day
in federal prison. She was released the 27th of March in 2018. She was
diagnosed with lymphoma in April of 2018. It is a form of cancer that renders
her in a position to not walk. She is confined to a wheelchair for mobility.
Miller was born in Penn Hills, Pennsylvania. She was a dancer and trained under
her mother at Maryen Lorrain Dance Studio. Miller was 14 when she was asked to
choreograph and coaching duties for one of her mother’s dancing teams in
competition. Miller eventually took over the studioand changed its name to
Reign Dance Productions. Miller became certified by Dance Masters of America
and became a part of Dance Masters of Pennsylvania Chapter #10 in 1986, but her
membership was terminated in February 2012 after which the DMA saying that
Miller's show on reality TV Dance Moms was "a total deflection of our
dance educators and their students and is negative for the dance
profession."
